7-Day Healthy Birthday Challenge and a GIVEAWAY ( #healthiermechallenge)

I’ve got some super exciting news to share with you today.

I’m turning the big 30 next Thursday! Well, I’m not exactly jumping off the roof, BUT I’ve got something ready to make it healthy, happy and memorable!

For my birthday this year, and since I’m grateful for all of you, I’m running a 7-day challenge and a GIVEAWAY!

Now how can you be healthier and win that gift card?

The holidays are around the corner, and I know from personal experience that the festivities, the banquets and the shopping can take their toll on the body. So in order to be prepared this year and to probably jump-start the typical New Year resolutions, I’ve designed this simple week-long challenge of daily healthy habits. The tasks are simple, easy and can be followed by anyone.

Here are the things to do in brief. So be prepared for them. I will post daily about the specific task and will share tips and recipes. It will also be your space to share your concerns about the challenge. It is a group effort and we can help each other out to get healthier. Remember, I’m doing the challenge as well with you.

BUT for the whole duration of the challenge, we’re cutting off SUGAR and WHITE FLOUR and we’re trying to get more daily PHYSICAL ACTIVITY.

The challenge will start on Wednesday, 20th of November at 8 a.m (GMT +2) and end on Tuesday, 26th of November at midnight, but you can commit to it TODAY.

You can exchange days as you please. So, say Monday’s task is not possible for you, do Wednesday’s instead and catch up.

Day 1/ Wednesday: Check your pantry and fridge and get rid of/donate soda cans, tomato cans lined with BPA, all junk food.

Day 2/ Thursday: Meditate for 10 minutes (I will post a meditation)

Day 3/ Friday: Drink at least 8 glasses of water

Day 4/ Saturday: Try a new vegetable ( you can try a familiar vegetable with a different method of cooking if you don’t have access to a new vegetable)

Day 5/ Sunday: Try a new fruit ( or use a familiar fruit in a different way: stewed, baked, in a smoothie..)

Day 6/ Monday: Meatless Monday (whole day without meat)/ or you can try cooking with a new whole grain, or different kind of beans.

Day 7/ Tuesday: Have a ginger infusion/ green tea as part of your sleep ritual or try yogurt with turmeric (curcuma), black pepper and olive oil.

So how can you take part?

Commit to this challenge and to be healthier. Subscribe to the blog on the right side of the page. Follow the first 4 steps of the Rafflecopter Giveaway link below (it will open in  same tab). Plan your week: Think of what new fruits, vegetables, grains or beans you will try. Think of what are your expectations of this challenge and how it can help you start or continue with some healthier habits.

Take Pictures of your meals, your daily activity and share them on social media. Post them on my Facebook page and I’ll share them for everyone else to see and encourage you on your challenge. If you’re on twitter or on Instagram share them with the hashtag#healthiermechallenge. You can also tag me @christele_d . It’s not required daily, but I love reading your comments, seeing your meals and getting inspired by your stories.
